Install the app and open it.
You will be required to Grant Storage Permission… Click on Grant.
Click on Allow to allow status saver to access your photos, media and files only your device. See screenshots below;
On clicking allow, you will be taken to the dashboard of the app.

If your phone do not have it installed by default, Download File Manager on Playstore. Then follow the guide below;
Go to File Manager, Click on the three dot at the top right hand corner and enable show hidden files.
Scroll down to WhatsApp folder, Open it, click on Media, finally click on .Statuses.
You will see all the WhatsApp status videos and images of friends that you have viewed.
Press and hold to copy it out from the temporary storage folder to another folder.
You can create a new folder for this purpose or you can just copy it to any available folder. This will enable the media file permanently save in your device.
